Todd Richter, a renowned healthcare analyst on Wall Street and esteemed alumnus of the Kelley School (MBA, '81), has made an extraordinary estate commitment valued at over $5 million. This remarkable gift will empower the Kelley School in its pursuit of excellence through the establishment of the Todd Richter Fund.

The fund will have a transformative impact by strengthening five key areas within the school. It will establish two professorships dedicated to faculty members with deep expertise in securities analysis. Additionally, it will provide graduate fellowships to exceptional Kelley students pursuing studies in finance or securities analysis. The fund will also provide vital support to the Graduate Finance Department and the Dean's Office. Furthermore, an innovative endowment will ensure equitable distribution of any remaining funds among these four categories.

Dean Daniel C. Smith enthusiastically commends Todd Richter for his outstanding commitment, emphasizing how his philanthropy reflects the core values cherished by the Kelley School. Richter's contributions go beyond financial support, as he actively engages with students through mentorship, collaborates with professors on research, serves on the Reese Fund board, and contributes as a judge in case competitions. The Dean firmly believes that the Richter Fund will inspire future generations of Kelley School students to embrace the school's vision and make a meaningful impact.

Currently serving as Managing Director of the global healthcare investment banking group at Bank of America, Richter leads the group's efforts in financial sponsor coverage. He plays a pivotal role in driving strategic transactions based on significant trends in finance and healthcare. Prior to this role, Richter held a senior position in the healthcare research group at Bank of America, where he provided comprehensive coverage across various healthcare sectors.

Richter's illustrious career includes 18 years at Morgan Stanley before joining Bank of America in 1999. During his tenure at Morgan Stanley, he led the firm's healthcare services equity research efforts, covering a wide range of healthcare service subsectors.

Having graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1979, Richter remains actively engaged in the Kelley School community as a member of the Dean's Council and an enthusiastic participant in the Kelley Alumni Association's Metropolitan New York chapter. He is also a distinguished member of the Indiana University Foundation's Arbutus Society. Richter's exceptional professional achievements have earned him numerous accolades, including being recognized as an "All-American Analyst" 17 times by the Institutional Investor's Annual Survey and as an "All-Star Analyst" by the Wall Street Journal.
